Barefoot Contessa To Kick Off Book Tour In King Of Prussia

Forgive me. This was the hardest kept secret I EVER had to keep from y’all – but, I had to do it until everything was confirmed.

The Barefoot Contessa is returning to Philly to sign copies of her latest cookbook, Barefoot Contessa Foolproof: Recipes You Can Trust on October 30, 2012 at noon at the Williams Sonoma in King of Prussia.  As this is a ticketed event, I highly suggest that you call Williams Sonoma to order your copy at (610) 265-5970 ASAP as tickets are going fast.

Barefoot Contessa Foolproof is a must have for the cookbook arsenal, IMO. The latest issue of Food Network Magazine has three of her foolproof recipes in their latest issue and I’ve already flagged the Salted Caramel Brownies for testing this weekend. From a personal standpoint, as a gal who couldn’t cook a lick years ago, her recipes have helped shape my cooking skills, taught me about using quality ingredients (good vanilla and all) and given me confidence in the kitchen.

A couple suggestions for those that will be attending – the line WILL be long. Be patient, be kind, call the store and get your pre-sale ticket early because it WILL sell out and, finally, wear comfy shoes. There will be no stilettos for this gal that day. Oh – and try to get there early – if anything, you get to chat with some amazing people that are also waiting with you, sample some fabulous goodies and, well, it is Williams Sonoma so you know there will be lots of fun kitchen eye candy to possibly put on your holiday wish list.

Personally, I’m planning to make a day of it – hopefully meeting with some of my fave people that day (hopefully Jen and  Tim will call the store to get their tix), pick up a few copies (they make fabulous holiday gifts!) and then channel my inner Main Line wench enjoying a leisurely day wandering around King of Prussia. Plus – it’s my b’day that week (technically, Sunday, but that’s fine) so this is the perfect b’day gift – see one of my fave chefs, get some amazing recipes, and shopping.  What’s not to love, right?
