“Shake Your Bon Bon – Shake Your Bon Bon” or so starts those infamous lyrics that have been stuck in my head since I got my Secret Recipe Club assignment. You remember this track, right?
Hey – I just want to start your Monday off on the right note 😉
Anywhoo – when I got my Secret Recipe Club assignment, An Opera Singer In The Kitchen, the minute I saw this recipe, I knew I had to give it a whirl. Noelle, another Philadelphia area gal, runs An Opera Singer In The Kitchen which hosts some seriously delish recipes. Originally, she focused primarily on vegetarian and vegan recipes but there are a couple that involve meat, esp. the fan favorite – bacon. There were so many recipes I have bookmarked to try – like Speculoos Cookie Butter Cinnamon Pecan Rolls, Bacon Cheddar Cornmeal Biscuits, Stuffed Poblano Peppers and Morning Glory Muffins. However, it was her Cherry Bom Bom Smoothie that won me over.
Growing up, I loved pairing chocolate and cherries and to have something that is somewhat healthy filled with cherry deliciousness – how could I not. Plus – during cherry season, I always have cherries in the fridge and the rest of the ingredients already in the pantry. I made a couple of minor changes, swapping out the almond milk for regular low-fat milk and, instead of ice, I decided to add frozen cherries and half a frozen banana to the mix. A couple whirs of the Vitamix later and *viola* a healthy yet sinful tasting smoothie. This Cherry Bon Bon Smoothie will have you forgoing the morning coffee for this sweet and healthy sip!

Tell me you wouldn’t want a sip of this…

This Cherry Bon Bon Smoothie is the perfect marriage of cherries and chocolate. One sip and you will want to start your day with this instead of the morning java!
