Did you know that there was a HUNGRY channel on YouTube? Seriously - I'm not kidding - there's actually a channel called HUNGRY. Even better - the man at the helm of it is from Food Network - Bruce Seidel. I got wind of the launch of HUNGRY some time ago but finally had a chance to really "dive" in and oh my heavens - there's some seriously fabulous content on there but, then again, I'm not surprised with Bruce at the helm. While perusing the plethora of offerings, I was super stoked … [Read more...]
Looking To Organize Your Fridge – Let Today Show You How

One of my biggest kitchen issues (besides the dreaded pantry), is organizing my fridge and freezer. My fridge is often packed full of ingredients, condiments galore and, yes, there's a whole SousPug section. (The pug has his own area for his chicken, pasta, melon and his favorite cheese.) It's a balancing act and in dire need of an intervention. The other night, I went to grab the SousPug's pasta and chicken out of the fridge and, as if in slow motion, the glass storage container that … [Read more...]
Food Fun: Cookie Monster Says Share It Maybe

You ever have a song that sticks in your head and you can't stop singing it for anything - even if you are royally sick of the song? That's my issue with anything that I hear on the radio, esp. that song "Call Me Maybe". It was cute for a few hot minutes and then, for the love of all things holy, I tried like all heck to avoid that song, much like I do when hear a few other artists (that will go unmentioned, of course.) There is ONE parody of that dreaded song that I absolutely adore and, … [Read more...]
Kids Are Taking Over The Kitchen
When I was growing up, the only cooking show that I was even vaguely familiar with was Julia Child's PBS show and, to be honest, I was more interested in watching MTV. Cooking and I never really got along until about 10 years ago. As a "latch-key" kid, memories of cooking with my mother are very rare - I do remember doing the dishes tho. I remember coming home after school and, I'll confess, I was not a stranger to the "mustard sammie" and other things I could muster together that did not … [Read more...]

We interrupt the 12 Days of Giftmas to bring a little levity to your holiday playlist all for a good cause, of course. I mean, when you hear "It's Christmas Time. Let's Drink Some Wine!" - how can you not sing along, right? A Bitchin' Christmas features cameos from foodie faves like Andrew Zimmern, Kelsey Nixon, Alie & … [Read more...]
Nigella Lawson Visits The Today Show And A Regis and Kelly Flashback
You know it's not a holiday season until Nigella Lawson visits the Today Show, and, like last year, Nigella was in the Today Show kitchen showing Matt and Ann one of her favorite dishes - Lone Linguine with Truffle Oil as well as a few others. I always joke that if there was ONE cookbook in my collection I would have to save (besides my Bampa's cookbook), it would be my signed copy of Nigella Kitchen. I remember the first time I saw Nigella Lawson, it was on the Style Network and she made … [Read more...]
Cooking School Is In Session With Sherri Shepherd, Nate Berkus and Aaron McCargo, Jr.
I feel bad for my poor neighbors last night and have to apologize for the hysterical laughter coming from the house. I was watching a DVR'd ep of The Nate Show and The View's own Sherri Shepherd was his co-host. Not only are they a hoot together, but the producers decided that it was time for "Cooking School." Now if any of you watch either The Nate Show or The View, you know that both Nate and Sherri have admitted that cooking is not their forte. Well, one of my fave FN peeps, … [Read more...]
Happy Birthday Julia Child
Sometimes I think that my brain has escaped and my memory is just not quite there lately. Thankfully, Sur La Table reminded me that today is a day of celebration - Julia Child's birthday. Even when I couldn't cook, I would watch her PBS show and marvel at how she made things accessible for today's home cook. Even on her press appearances, her razor sharp wit was evident - check out this appearance on the David Letterman show in the late 80s where she just rolled with the punches. What a … [Read more...]
