The end of summer is fast approaching but before we start shuttering away the summer wardrobe and getting ready for all things fall, I have a fun event I need to share with you – a Food Truck Rally at one of my favorite places here in Pennsylvania – Dorney Park on August 27 and 28, 2016 in Allentown, PA, just outside of Philadelphia.
Dorney Park holds a special place in my heart – it’s the site of so many happy memories. When out of town friends ask for places they can take their families, Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom is one of the first places I recommend. Between the roller coasters, the rides, the food and the fun – there is so much to do and see!
Food trucks are a way of life here in Philly. There are so many amazing culinary delights you can find around the city and Dorney Park is bringing in some of the best food truck eats in the area for an exciting 2 day event. Some of the trucks rolling up to Food Truck Rally include Roasted Liberties with some of the best steaks, brisket and pulled chicken in Philly, Uncle B’s BBQ Shack for the best smoked and bbq bites, Licensed 2 Grill for the grilled food lover (hello – the Black Magic Mac Attack is screaming my name) Kona Ice for a bit of Aloha shaved ice love, The Tot Cart (because Tots – c’mon now) and Bonjour Creperie for the best sweet and savory crepes (someone save me a S’more crepe please). For a full list of the food trucks participating in the Food Truck Rally and the dates they will have their trucks on site, check out this schedule at Dorney Park.com
Added bonus – if you love Top Chef, Dorney Park is bringing in some serious culinary talent. The one and only Nick Elmi, winner of Top Chef Season 11, will be appearing at the Hydra Plaza on August 28th from 12 – 3 p.m. Nick Elmi owns the Laurel restaurant based in South Philly and the food there is off the charts amazing!
You can join the fun by purchasing your admission tickets online or at the park gates. You can save up to $10 off of the front gate price by purchasing a 2016 God Any Day Admission Ticket online before your visit at DorneyPark.com. The Food Truck Rally is included in the cost of admission so not only will you be able to have a blast on some of the best rides and rollercoasters, but you can also find some of the best eats!
So – who’s up for checking at the Food Truck Rally at Dorney Park next weekend? See you there!
