For dinner tonight, make this delicious Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken. Tender chicken is simmered with honey, garlic, pineapples and soy sauce and served over fluffy brown rice and the best part – the slow cooker does most of the work.

Whenever I’m looking for a dinner that will wow the family but is easy to make for a busy weekday, I often turn to my favorite Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken. It was a recipe I learned early on in my culinary cooking journey, adapting it from a classic AllRecipes.com recipe for slow cooked Honey Garlic Chicken. It’s so simple to whip together early in the morning and when you come home, you are greeted with something that is nothing like you could get from takeout. This is a recipe that you can totally make your own – upping the heat level or, if you like it a bit more sweet – you can add a touch more honey. The pineapple adds another layer of savory sweetness and compliments the tender chicken.

I have made it a myriad of ways over the years and whether you cook if for 4 hours or 8 hours, the chicken is a deep rich molasses hue with the honey ginger soy sauce permeating every delicious bite. Using the chicken thighs makes this recipe totally economical and with a few pantry ingredients, you have a fabulous meal.

Whenever I am craving a bit of warmth and comfort in the afternoon, I often brew myself a steaming mug of Lipton tea. Since I was a young gal, I used to steal sips of my Nana’s tea and as I got older, I often would enjoy not only Lipton’s strong black tea but also their green tea, often with a sweet treat like one of my favorite confections, madeleines. When time allows, I love visiting with friends for afternoon tea at one of the lovely hotels here in Philadelphia where you can find sweet and savory bites to go with a perfectly brewed cup of tea. There is nothing like it – tea can not only be for comfort and relaxation, but also for celebration. It’s one of those things that makes me take a minute, relax and enjoy the moment.

I heard that Lipton updated their teas with bold flavors and new flavor combinations so I picked up a few boxes to try – their Pure Green Tea, their soothing Lemon Ginger Herbal Tea and, of course, my favorite – their English Breakfast Tea.
